The main aim of the Universities Pairing Scheme is to give policy makers more direct links to all Welsh universities and raise awareness amongst academics of how policy is developed in order to better enable them to contribute.

The Universities Pairing Scheme will provide opportunities for Assembly Members and senior Civil Servants to spend a day with an academic researcher at a university, meet with staff and students to hear about the research that is taking place and see the facilities that are available. In return, academic researchers within Welsh universities might spend time at an AM’s constituency office, or observing debates and committee meetings.
