Networks

One of the aims of the Beacon for Wales was to help to create an effective network for engagement in and across Wales. In order to achieve this, we worked with partners to support networks that allowed academics, professional communicators and community members to come together to generate effective engagement.

Science Alliance Cymru was formed in 2007 by the five core partners of the Beacon for Wales together with the British Science Association, whilst the Wales Culture Exchange was formed in 2009.

The success of the two networks demonstrate the enduring impact that the Beacon for Wales has had on engagement in Wales, and from March onwards the two networks will continue under the management of Cardiff University's Community Engagement Team and Techniquest.
