A key part of any dialogue is the ability to listen. This is also usually the hardest part! However, good engagement design will allow for spaces where the various different parties will be able to have their say. If you are not confident about running an activity or feel that your area is particularly contentious, it may be worth using a facilitator to help run the session.
Examples of engagement activities that enable people to express their opinions:
- Citizens’ juries
- Consensus Conferences
- Delphi Process
- Focus Groups
- Vision Building
